Armone Sullivan
Master Trainer/Creator of Performance Complete™ Pilates
Armone’s passion is helping people shape their bodies exactly as they want them to be. Through her own experiences as a competitive cyclist and a classically trained dancer, Armone has a unique perspective on how different activities result in different body shapes.
A certified Pilates instructor, Armone’s unique, vigorous approach to Pilates achieves noticeable results much quicker than with standard techniques. Considered the most intense 55-minute training session available, Armone created Performance Complete™ as a modern spin on Pilates. This proprietary program attacks excess bulk in the hips thighs and butt, tightens the body’s core muscles and achieves visible muscle definition and weight loss significantly faster than any other kind of Pilates workout.
Armone was born and raised in Del Mar, Calif. When she was six, she began classical ballet training, later worked with Louis McKay (a former Debbie Reynolds’ performer) and became a competitive jazz dancer. She attended the University of California at Santa Barbara, receiving her bachelor’s degree in psychology. After four years as a competitive cyclist, Armone discovered Pilates and has never looked back.
After training with a protégé of Ron Fletcher, the man credited with popularizing Pilates in the 70s and 80s, and receiving her certification from Kathy Corey of West Coast Pilates, Armone ran three Pilates studios in San Diego before opening her own private studio in La Jolla. She received additional training at True Pilates (formerly Drago’s) gym in NYC, home of Romana Kryzanowska, the world-renowned protégé of Joseph Pilates.
Armone is committed to continuing to stay on the forefront of her field and participating in conferences and courses across the country including the IDEA and the Body Mind Spirit conventions. Both have enriched Armone’s unique brand of training, which encourages the body to become stronger, faster, more agile and lean.
In both her small group and private classes, Armone designs each workout according to the individual needs of her clients. At her La Jolla Complete Pilates studio, she fosters a spirit of community that promotes bonds of friendship as well as training success. Armone believes that Pilates is a lifestyle, not just a fitness regime.
From her own daily experiences, whether keeping up with her four children or sprinting up a hill, Armone knows how Pilates enhances every aspect of life. She is happy to have the opportunity at her studio to share her passion with others.
